EVERYONE HAS A STORY: Know Thyself, Understand Thy Neighbor

Communication break-down can occur at any time and in many different settings.
There's Group Project Anxiety: everyone has great ideas at discussion meetings, but you feel like the only one with a sense of urgency to get any actual work done.  There's Discussion Frustration: whenever you engage in a discussion with your group, you feel as if your thoughts and ideas are not valued or brushed aside with no regard to your feelings.  And finally, there is just sheer information overload: why is it that after a full day of school, you feel completely zapped of energy, consumed by an overwhelming need to be where people are not?

We all realize that we are social creatures.  We seek out and thrive within interpersonal relationships.
We long to be heard and appreciated, to create and explore.  This is probably not new information.  Rewarding as they may be, however, relationships of every type are complex and not without their difficulties.  People are different.  Where we come from, our experiences, our beliefs, and our DNA all go into who we are, how we see and interpret the world, and how we communicate.

Many corporations have invested large sums of money on consultants with one goal in mind:  to improve inter-office communication and efficiency.  Where do you begin?  The communicators, themselves!  Knowing who you are helps you to better understand how and why you communicate the way that you do.  Knowing who your co-workers are can help you better understand how to communicate with them more effectively and efficiently.

So, as Aristotle taught centuries ago, we will begin by seeking the wisdom that comes from knowing ourselves.  Here is a link to a personality inventory:  http://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test  Once you complete the test, you can have your results emailed to yourself and you can read all about your personality type: how you relate to others, how others see you, how you work, etc.

The test takes about 20 minutes, but it provides a wealth of information as it analyzes four distinct areas of personality and then adds a fifth area that analyzes overall identity.  It is created from a combination of the infamous Myers/Briggs and Carl Jung's Theory of Psychological Types.  The four areas are explained as follows:

1.  Introversion vs Extroversion: (I vs. E) This is more than just "shy" vs. "outgoing."  In fact,
according to Jung, it is really not about that at all.  It has to do more with where you get your energy.  Do you find yourself getting energized when you are around others, or do you find that you need to be away from people to re-energize?
2.  Intuitive vs. Sensing: (N vs. S) Intuitives are creative, imaginative and curious individuals who are open-minded.  They tend to go with novelty over stability and see/feel possibilities.  They tend to have strong discernment in new situations.  Sensing or Observant individuals are practical, pragmatic and down to earth.  They tend to have strong habits and rather than going with their gut, they are more focused on what has happened or what is happening.

3.  Feeling vs. Thinking: (F vs. T) Feeling individuals are sensitive and emotionally expressive.  They are more empathetic and tend to be less competitive than T's.  They tend to focus on social harmony
and cooperation.   Thinkers focus on objectivity and rationality, prioritizing logic over emotion.  They tend to hide their feelings and value efficiency over cooperation.

4.  Judging vs. Perceiving or Prospecting: (J vs. P)  Judging personalities are decisive, thorough and highly organized.  They value clarity, predictability and closure preferring structure and planning to spontaneity.  Perceiving individuals are good at improvising and spotting opportunities.  They are flexible, relaxed, non-conformists who prefer to keep their options open.

Identity Variables of Assertive vs. Turbulent: (A vs. T)Assertive types are confident, self-assured and pretty resistant to stress.  They do not push themselves too hard.  The turbulent types are self-conscious and sensitive to stress. They are perfectionistic types who experience a wide array of emotions.

So, test away, and then....
1.  IDENTIFY YOUR FOUR LETTER PERSONALITY, then put a dash, and A OR T   http://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test
2.  COMMENT ON ANY SURPRISES OR EXPECTATIONS.
3.  NOW,  click this link, and find out if you are more left or right-brained, and let me know your results!  https://www.arealme.com/left-right-brain/en/
4.  Finally, for those who have not had Mr. Lin, here is a quiz to determine your Harry Potter House.  :)  https://www.gotoquiz.com/pottermore_sorting_quiz_all_possible_question

For example:  I am an INFJ - T.   This was absolutely no surprise to me, but a big surprise to those who know me, as I come across as an extrovert (SO not true!)   I think this is because I am a people pleaser, a trait I am working hard on to mellow.  I am also a J, but BARELY.  I need to feel organized in my environment, but DO NOT open any of my desk drawers!  They show my true, mostly right-brained (although it is close!), messy creativity!  Finally, I am 84% House of Gryffindor.  Now, it's your turn!

  1. My personality type is Consul: ESFJ-T. This came at no surprise to me as I am very aware as to who I am as a person. I am a very detailed oriented and extremely organized person.I always use a planner and my room is always tidy and neat. I am also extroverted, but I tend to shut down that side of me while at school. I love to meet new people and make conversations with others. I got left brained on my second quiz and I got 84% raven claw in the Harry Potter quiz.

  2. My personality type is protagonist: ENFJ-T. For the most part, it didn't shock me but some of it did. The Extroverted part didn't surprise me completely because I can be very extroverted when I want to be but at times I can also be introverted. The part that shocked me was when I read my description and it said that people like me are politicians because that is not a career field I am interested in. I was reading the description more and it sounds exactly like me. The politician is the only thing that truly shocked me.
For the brain quiz, I got 56% left brain and 44% right brain. This was not shocking because sometimes I enjoy learning math, science, English, history but I am also a person that is very much into music and art.
I got 91% Hufflepuff and I have a taken harry potter quizes so it does not shock me. I also think the personality traits of a Hufflepuff match me very well.

  3. My personality type is INTJ-T. This came as a slight surprise to me because although I expected to be more information led and introverted I didn't expect to have the same personality traits as my brother. We seem like such polar opposites of each other sometimes, but I guess we have more in common than I originally thought.
For the brain quiz, I got 80% left brain and it comes to me with only a little surprise again. I already knew I was less creativity oriented, but I never realized it was so much as a 80/20 split.
I am 79% Ravenclaw and I never read harry Potter or was that interested in the movies so I don't even know what this means. lol

    2. Alex - I am just little acquainted with Harry Potter, too! When I got my results, (Gryffindor) I had no idea what that meant. But Anders has summed it up for you! :)

  4. My personality type was ENTJ or the Commander. I was surprised as I typically don't think of myself that way and did not expect to have the rarest personality type.
I discovered that I was left brain dominant as it was at 76% whereas my right brain was 24%. This surprised me as I thought I was more neutral.
I was 88% gryfndor which surprised me but then again I never really read the books I just new that was the primary class for heroes.

  5. My personality type is INFP-T. This was kind of expected because I don't see myself as anything else but introverted, intuitive, feeling, and prospecting. I don't like having things planned out as I would rather just figure things out as they go. I am 52% right brain and 48% left as expected because I'm not an especially analytical or creative. I am 75% slytherin, 64% griffindor,57% ravenclaw, and 40% hufflepuff which I did not expect because the sorting hat quizzes I have taken in elementary school have classified me as a ravenclaw so it's eye opening to know that I have changed.

  6. I am ENFJ-T. I am not actually surprised at this. I can be very outgoing but often around bigger groups, i am more of an introvert which is why my split is 57/43. I am also an almost even split with being intuitive and observant being 52/48 and I figured this. I am often caught in the middle and depending on where I am depends on which one I will focus more on, yet I am chill and creative at the same time. I am more of a feel person and am in touch with my emotions. I lead by heart and am a people-pleaser whether I would like to admit it or not, but have tons of love and compassion that I want to spread. I am very organized. If I do not have all my plans listed out, often I become a mess and do not know where to start or end. I am clean and do everything on structure. If I am not told in an order what I need to do or what needs to get done, I am lost in it all, overwhelming myself. Lastly, I am very Turbulent and figured that this was true. I thrive on stress which is a blessing and a curse. I often load up my plate until it is too full and cause myself too much stress.

I am a complete 50/50 left and right brain which did not surprise me. I have always been logical, yet creative and have had the struggle finding out which one I was, but now i know

I am 84% Ravenclaw :) I have never actually watched or read Harry Potter but hope to soon! I dont know what this is but coool

  7. My personality type was INTP-T, which I think is very fitting, I can bounce between introverted and extroverted, but lean towards introverted, the N and the P are highly accurate, and the T is pretty accurate, also the T for turbulent seemed right with the description, but I think I'm fairly assertive as well.
48% Left Brain and 52% right brain. Technically this qualified me as 'right brained' but I think the near perfect split is very fitting for me. I am very logically inclined, but also love creative thinking.
For Harry Potter houses, I usually hear each one about equally from people. I got 77% Gryffindor, followed by Slytherin, then Ravenclaw. Suprisingly Hufflepuff was last with only 15%, which is what I usually am told more often than the others.

  8. My Personality type is INFJ-A, which didn't surprise me too much as after reading through what it meant, it sounded very alike to myself, but I though it was a cool result nonetheless. The results of my Brain quiz was I got 60% Left brain and 40% Right brain which is a small surprise as I knew that I was rational and was ordered but I originally thought I would be a 50/50 so that surprised me. I am 86% Gryffindor which is a little surprising.

  9. My personality type is an ISTJ-T, or the logistician. This wasn’t really that much of a surprise to me but it was so interesting to see the different levels of things and how I can see all these things in my everyday life. Most of my friends would refer to me more as an extrovert, but I am only an extrovert when I am around people I know, which explains how my levels were almost split 50/50 for the introvert and extrovert. I definitely am a senser and thinker as I tend to overthink everything and I care very much about the facts! I can definitely see in my life how I am more judging and more of a thinker, and those are both things I am trying to work on :) My results from this test also go hand in hand with the brain test as I totally have a left dominant brain, and I am the house of Ravenclaw! So overall I would say that my results were pretty accurate.

  10. My personality type is INTJ-T. This came as a surprise to me because I've already had to take this test before and I got ISTP-T, but I think that these results fit better. I do like to be on my own and figure things out and I am fairly logic-oriented. I also like to have plans for everything. One thing that really made it make more sense to me was the "Architects You May Know" section, when I saw that there were fictional characters that when I saw them I could relate to like Petyr Baelish and Gandalf the Grey.
The second test revealed that I am 57% right-brained and 43% left-brained. This makes sense because I think I do have a fairly creative imagination, but I am not an emotional person.
I would be a part of the Ravenclaw House (86%) which makes sense, especially when considering the other test results.

  11. My personality type is ENFJ-T. Also known as the Protagonist personality type. This didn't really shock me because I’ve always wanted to be a leader to help guide people. The test told me that I am 93% Extroverted and I lead 99% with my emotions. I absolutely feel like this is spot on. I love to help people, and I love to make people's lives better. I can be very emotional, empathetic, and selfless. I very much enjoy being in leadership positions because I feel like that’s when I am most able to help people. I am 70% right brained and 30% left brained. This also doesn't surprise me, I'm very artistic and creative, and I absolutely hate Math and most logical thinking problems haha. I am 76% Hufflefuff. This again doesn’t surprise me. Just like my personality test, I’d like to think that I’m selfless and loving towards other people. I have a genuine interest in the well-being of others, and people’s feelings matter very much to me. I’d like to say that I am a “gentle leader”, and love to watch people achieve their goals with my assistance. Generally, I just adore other humans and I absolutely love getting the chance to help people and make a positive impact in their life.

  12. I have the personality type ISTJ-T, also known as the logistician. This did not come as a surprise as I have taken this test in the past and I got the same results. I also feel like it really fits my personality. For the brain test, I found that I am 66% left brained and 34% right brain. This came a little surprise because though I have a very analytical way of thinking, I feel that I have a little more artist inclinations than the test suggests. Lastly, I am 88% Gryffindor, comes as a little surprise, but I also don't know much about the Harry Potter houses as I have not read the books. I do know that Gryffindor is a sort of house for the heroes, which is what surprises me a little because I guess I just assumed I would be categorized in a different house.

  13. My personality type was INFJ-T, or the advocate. This was relatively surprising as the last time I took the test I got INTJ-T but that just means I am growing as a person. I do like being labeled as an advocate, it is who I want to be and relates to activism. As I read about it I began to relate to the personality type more and understand why I was placed there. My results of the left/right brain test I got 66% left brained and 34% right brained. This is not too surprising but I thought I would be more in the middle. The most surprising test result was the Harry Potter one, I have always been Ravenclaw with every test I’ve taken but this time it said I was Gryffindor. I know I have changed a lot as a person over time and I suppose my test results reflect that. I got 77% Gryffindor, 56% Slytherin and Hufflepuff, and only 54% Ravenclaw.

  14. My personality type is INFP-T, the Mediator. I was a bit surprised to see they only make up 4% of the population, but the personality traits make sense as I can be very quiet yet imaginative and creative, which also applies to the brain test. I got 54% right brain and 46% left brain, which makes sense as I enjoy artistic activities and the more creative side of things and not logical/analytical activities. For the Harry Potter quiz, I got 82% Hufflepuff, 76% Gryffindor, 64% Ravenclaw, and 18% Slytherin. These results don't surprise me as I care about other people's feelings and I love being helpful in any way that I can.

  15. My new personality type is INFP-T. Last year I got EOFP-T. I had to go back and check because I was a little worried by the change. But I am not surprised because quarantine has made me more introverted, which honestly I hate. I am 54% right brained and 46% left brained. This isn't a surprise to me because I am more artistic and creative, than analytical and academic. I got sorted into ravenclaw with 72%.

    ReplyDelete
  16. My personality type is INFP-A, also known as the mediator. I'm not surprised at all by this because calm and calculated but I also enjoy interacting with people and am artistic a little bit. I am 70% left brained and 30% right brained. This also isn't a surprise to me because I enjoy more analytical activities fun compared to artistic activities. I got sorted in Ravenclaw with 84%. I also had 74% Hufflepuff, 44% Gryffindor, and 40% Syltherin. This didn't surprise me because I value and strive for knowledge, and I do care for others and try my best to help them.

  17. My new personality type is ENFJ-T which is a protagonist. I believe last year I was a defender. It definitely surprised me because I don't exactly see myself as that outgoing. I am 56% left brained and 44% right brained. I believe that is pretty similar to last years for me, but I think the right brained percentage was higher than the left. I was not really surprised because I think quarantine has made me less artistic than I usually am due to not getting out and not doing photography as much as I usually do. I was sorted into gryffindor with 72%.

  18. My personality type is INFJ-T otherwise known as the advocate, last time I took this test I had gotten the adventurer, I think quarantine really changed me. The left and right brain test showed I was 53% left brained and 47% right brained, it was close to even which surprised me. Last year I think I was a little more left brained. I got sorted into Ravenclaw with an 80% least year I also got Ravenclaw although I think the percentage was a little lower. I think overall most of my results stayed fairly the same except my personality on which is odd since none of my other quizzes changed much.

  19. I got INTP-T this did not surprise me that I got it as I have taken the quiz before however and I do often get lost in my own head. I am 70% left and 30% right for the left brain right brain and I got 68% ravenclaw.

    ReplyDelete
  20. My personality type is ISTP-T which doesn't surprise me mainly because I have taken this quiz before, I am 100% an introvert and tend to spend a lot of time just thinking to myself. I am 60% left brain and 40% right brain. I got 72% Hufflepuff.

    ReplyDelete
  21. My personality type is ISFJ-T. NONE of this surprised me, I know myself very well. I got over 70% of each of the results of what I was over the other option, so it was very clear. I am left Brained by a long shot, but I am a very emotional person in the way that I think and act, so I thought I would get more right brained, but the other aspects of being left brained I do compare to. I am also 81% Hufflepuff, I got Ravenclaw my first time taking a pottermore quiz a few years ago, but my next house was Ravenclaw, but I would say that my personality had changed a bit since then.

  22. I am an INFJ-T, which is the same results I received last year. I absolutely love taking tests like these and reading how I tend to react to situations based off my type. Its so cool, I feel like someone wrote this about me! When it comes to right verses left brain, I am 67% right and 33% left, again this doesn't surprise me because I always think with my emotions. Lastly, I am 74% Gryffindor. I have never watched or read anything involving the Harry Potter series, so I guess I'll have to do some research to figure out what that entails. I think since I took the test last year I have become a bit more confident in who I am, but everything else has relatively stayed the same.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I got ISFJ-A, the Defender, which is unsurprising to me because I have taken this test before and got the same result. The interesting part was that I got almost a 50-50 split on each character trait. I then got 63% left brained an 37% right brained and this does not come as a terrible surprise to me because I often try and look at things logically and find the best solution to my problems. Finally, I am 76% Gryffindor so I am very excited about that. I also got 58% Hufflepuff, and 54% for Ravenclaw and Slytherin which is interesting because I did not think I was very cunning and thought I would be more of a Ravenclaw.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I got Entertainer ESFP-T and I wasn't surprised with my results until I started to look at the more in-depth definition where it said that entertainers love the spotlight and attention because I usually don't like a lot of attention or spotlight, especially in a large group of people. But I did agree when it said entertainers are observant and sensitive to others emotions and how my personality type will help anyone but will try not to show any sad emotion in front of others. From the second test, I got that I am more right brained(the creative side) at 54% and the left side at 46%. And I am in the Hufflepuff house by 86%. I am 64% Gryffindor, 58% Ravenclaw, and 30% Slytherin.

  25. My personality type is Consul, ESFJ-T. The only surprises to me was that I got Extroverted and Feeling, I see myself as a reserved person most of the time when I am around people I don’t know or when I don’t feel comfortable, I also thought I was more of a thinking person because I believe I base most of my thinking on logic but I do tend to express my emotions often around people im close to. From the brain quiz I got 60% left brain inclined which doesn’t surprise me because I don't think I am much of a creative person so I think the test got it right. Lastly I am 86% Ravenclaw, 68% Gryffindor, 56% Slytherin, and 36% Hufflepuff.

    ReplyDelete
  26. For the first quiz, I got a ENFP-T or campaigner. I agree with this because I do believe I am a free spirit. I don’t really like to get caught up with details and dwell on pasts events because it slows me down. For the second test, I got left-right brain balanced. This doesn’t surprise me because I feel like I am in the middle. Lastly, I got 74% Slytherin, 72% Ravenclaw, 54% Gryffindor, and 40% Hufflepuff. This doesn’t surprise me because I got Slytherin as my highest last year. But, I think I raised my Ravenclaw score a little bit since last year.

  27. After testing, it was revealed that I was INTJ-T. This result did not surprise me, as I have gotten the same result three times in a row when I took the online test in the past. I expected the same result, however, as not much about my personality has really changed since last time, and it all fits fairly well. The second test displayed that I was equally balanced on both sides of my brain, and while i think it was different compared to last time, I believe it was still close even back then. Finally, after the house test, it revealed that I was mostly a RavenClaw, which based on the other results I have gotten didn’t surprise me too much.

  28. For the first test, I discovered that I have the ENFP-T (campaigner) personality type. The result did not surprise me, I feel as if it perfectly encapsulates myself and what I stand for. The second test showed that I use my right brain more than my left brain. This result is also not surprising to me, I tend to have more creative and more imaginative thinking than logical. Lastly, the third test described that I was 74% slytherin. I have actually never read or watched the Harry Potter series so I am unsure if the results match my personality.

  29. For the personality test I found that I have ENFP-T/ENFP-A (Campaigner) personality type. After reading the description of this personality type I was not surprised because it pretty much sums me up to a T. For the second test, it showed that I am more left brain dominant at 53% but it was almost exactly even because I was 47% right brained. The final test said that I was a Ravenclaw. I do not think this represents me and I feel I would be more of a Slytherin (but it's okay because I'm going to take the test again just to make sure).

  30. My personality trait is the protagonist: ENFJ-T. Most of what was said came as no surprise. My identity is definitely turbulent and I do tend to make decisions based on how I judge the situation or how I am feeling about that topic, I speak what I feel though this pushes many people away. I did find it shocking that my energy is more intuitive than observant. I always thought of myself as observant. I am more left brained, I am rational, symbolic, digital ,objective, analytic, and orderly. I am 84% ravenclaw.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The result that I got from the personality test was the INFP-T (Mediator) personality. This result did not surprise me, as I feel that I tend to try and mediate most situations I come across. As for the second test, the results showed that I am left right balanced with both sides encapsulating 50%. And for the final test, it was discovered that I am a Gryffindor. I find that Gryffindor represents me almost perfectly, although I have found that I also have the capability to be placed in Ravenclaw

  32. The result I received from the personality test was ENTJ-T (Commander) personality. I am not at all surpised about this as I tend to be a natural leader at times and I would consider myself to be loud and charismatic. I am incredibly determined to achieve plans I set for myself. For the second test, I received 63% left brain and 37% right brained. This makes sense for me as I greatly enjoy math, however, also enjoy art and music. For the Harry Potter quiz, I recieved 79% Ravenclaw. Every test I have ever taken to seperate me into one of the houses puts me as a Ravenclaw. I also recieved 57% Slytherin, 40% Hufflepuff, and 33% Gryffindor.

  33. For the personality quiz, my result was ISFJ-T, or the Defender. I wasn't super surprised with my results. My extrovert/introvert split was almost exactly in the middle at a 47/53 which was what I was expecting. If I have people around me I know and am comfortable with, even when in a crowd of new people as well, I come off as extroverted and I do love to talk and be with other people. However, when I am by myself with new people I tend to be on my own, I don't mind spending time by myself, if I don't know anyone I will most likely be silent, and I have a little bit of social anxiety. I also think I'm a bit of both because I want to be outgoing and I used to be very extroverted but as I got older I became more reserved and nervous making me more introverted. For the intuitive/sensing split it was again near the middle, at 41/59. I honestly was a bit surprised that I was more about sensing because I feel like a usually take a more intuitive approach to my actions, but I do act on emotion sometimes and I do like to express my emotions to others whether through words or actions. Feeling also came as a bit of a surprise but it was more of the same thing and sensing. The judgement part was a little confusing for me at first until I read the synopsis about us being decisive. I believe I am a more rational person and logically oriented so decisiveness wasn't a big surprise. Same for turbulent as well. For the left-brain right-brain test I recieved left-brain with 63% and right brain with 37%. This honestly surprised me a lot because I believe I am 50/50. I really do have a lot of both traits in me. Most of the questions I actually couldn't choose because they were both appealing to me. I think that I am more left-brained in situations and school, but more right brained everywhere else. For my house quiz I recieved 86% percent Gryffindor which I knew, and 74% Ravenclaw which I also kinda knew, 56% Hufflepuff which surprised me because I don't feel I relate that much, and 22% slytherin.

  34. In the first test, I was identified as INFP-T Meditator, which surprised me a bit since I like to think that I support my decisions with logic in my own head, but I also think it fits since I tend to put others before myself. 35. On the Myers-Briggs test I got INFP-T. This didn't surprise me seeing as I've already taken the test before. The only thing that didn't really apply to me is it said that "Mediators" grow up dreaming of being a writer and this isn't something I've ever really been interested in. People around me might be surprised to find out that I'm much more introverted than extroverted. My results were more left-inclined which actually surprised me since I feel like I'm driven by creativity (although not by impulse, I have to think through things for a long time). It was very close though, L: 56% R: 44%. I was 81% gryffindor on the harry potter quiz which was crazy. I haven't taken it in a bit but I have always gotten hufflepuff (which was my second up, 60%).

  36. From the 16 personalities quiz I found that I am a ENFP-A, also known as an assertive campaigner. I found the strengths and weaknesses to be the most surprising aspect of the results. There were times when it mentioned I am emotional and I can get stressed because I think I can do things way outside of what is actually possible and I was shocked. The amount of times I have been told that I dream a little too big in the moment is unmatched. However it also talked about how I am capable of relaxing and enjoying the little things for what they are. I think this may be a little different from last year because especially through COVID I think I have personally developed a sense of living in the moment and excepting the little things knowing that one day they will be the big things. When I took the left brain right brain test I got perfectly 50-50 which actually shocked me I figured I was pretty much left brain thinker. However I like the idea that I am pretty balanced both academically thinking and artistically. For the Harry Potter House I was put into Hufflepuff. I don't really know the movies that well but the description of the house was pretty accurate. It was 77% and the next closest one was 38% gryffindor so I thought that was pretty cool as well.

  37. On the first test I got INFP-T. I've don't the test multiple times before so it wasn't that surprising. Yet at the same time reading through the descriptions is scary because of how accurate it is. I definitely am known for listening to others and taking a while to open up to people. For my brain quiz I got left right balanced which surprised me as I expected to be more right brain and creative. My Harry Potter house results were Gryffindor at 88%. I’m not familiar with Harry Potter so I’m not too sure if I should be happy or not but it’s cool I guess B)

  38. On the personality test I got ESFP-T, the Entertainer. I was really skeptical at first because I feel like I'm more shy, but it fits better than I expected. I want to be a part of the action wherever I am, and I am always looking for the positive aspect of situations. I chose T instead of A because I am very indecisive, and other traits explain why I'm shyer and easily overwhelmed. Last year I got the Consul (ESFJ), and I think that changed because this year I grew to love going with the flow over planning. On the brain quiz, I got 80% left-brained which didn't surprise me at all. I got the same result last year, and it seems accurate because my thinking is very logical. I think too much about creative activities and just stress myself out even more haha. On the Harry Potter quiz, I was surprised because I got Ravenclaw. Last year I think I was a Hufflepuff, but it was cool to see a change.

  39. This is Claire. Last year's personality test was no surprise-- I have been an ENTJ-A every time I have taken this test since I was ten years old. This time, I was not surprised to find once more that I am an ENTJ-A. This would be apparent to anyone who knows me because I am a results and goal oriented person who wants to get things done and have a very work hard, play hard type of mindset. I am also left brained and a Slytherin :).

  40. I am a ENFP-A which is a campaigner. I agree with this personality trait because I am extroverted and like to explore new ideas with a very spontaneous factor. I don't remember what I had last year but I am almost certain that it was not the same personality. I am also 63% left brained and 72% Gryffindor! I was not a gryffindor before so it is cool seeing the difference in those because of how I am changing overtime by learning from my past experiences.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I am an ISFJ-T, which is a defender. I agree with what I got because the personality traits that go with a defender I can see myself as. I am a turbulent defender and I do feel that once something goes wrong, and I’m around when it happens, I do feel it was my fault and tend to second guess what I did. It also says that turbulent defenders are protective and put others before themselves and I definitely do that. I am left brain dominant which isn’t a surprise because I’ve been left brain dominant every time I’ve taken a test like this one. My result from the Harry Potter House is I'm 77% Slytherin.

  42. I am INFJ-T, which is a Advocate. I agree with what I got because I personally identify with many of the traits that go with advocate I love to help others and in the past I used to put others before me which I have come to realize was a mistake and I do need to prioritize myself. I am more right brain and I am inclined to music and art which I agree I love both so much and both make me feel calm. I am also 90% Slytherin which i agree and love as that is my favorite house.

  43. My personality is a Campaigner ENFP-A / ENFP-T. This does not come as any surprise to me because I am very extroverted and am a very emotional person. The description says that this personality is the life of the party but at the same time is more interested in getting to know other people than being in the setting. It also talked about how people with this personality are more likely to be indecisive and impatient which I can very much relate to. At this part, the article also talked about how people with this personality are more likely to get dejected when they are trapped in a boring hole. I agree with this because I find it hard to focus on things that are interesting to me.

  44. My personality type is a Mediator, specifically an INFP-T. This definitely makes sense to me! I am (normally) optimistic and love to help other people, but I often come across as reserved at first. I am absolutely more turbulent than assertive. I'm very sensitive to stress. I also agree that I am led by intent rather than rewards or punishments and rely on my morals to make decisions. On the brain test, I got 60% left brain and 40% right brain. This is pretty accurate! I like structure in my academic life and an outline to follow, but I like to be more creative in my personal life. Lastly, on the Harry Potter quiz, my highest house was Hufflepuff. I've actually never read Harry Potter or taken a quiz like this before, but my friends have told me many times that I would be a Hufflepuff, so I'm not surprised :)

  45. My personality type is an INTP-T which is okay because I guess that means that I explain things in a logical way. I am 76 percent Hufflepuff which is predictable because I like studying and it sas that I am 69 percent an introvert.

  46. My personality type results were an INFJ-T. I believe this is the same as I got last year. However, I am still surprised that I got feeling over thinking. I honestly believe I am half and half in this particular category because while my emotions may control my actions at first, I stop and think about what I should logically do and proceed based off that as I know emotionally charged actions don't bode well most of the time.I was also surprised with the left brain vs. right brain tests because I usually get a perfect 50/50, but this time I got 66% left brain. Finally, my Harry Potter house was the same as usual, I am a Gryffindor.

    1. We are much alike! :) With F vs. T, I have heard that people who are more feeling may also be deep, deep thinkers, but the difference is they deeply care about and attach much importance to their decisions (almost so that they can get anxious about it and over think) That is DEFINITELY me! It doesn't mean that you just make decisions on emotion. In fact, I think people who are "F" often overthink. I know I do!

  47. From the personality test I got the type ENFP-A which is the campaigner. My score had me at 65% extroverted which I agree with. I was split right down the middle between intuitive and observant which I feel describes me well. I had a 70% feeling which pretty much describes all my decisions I only think about when it's important. I was surprised that I scored a 80% assertive personality because I always thought of myself as turbulent in the past. I am 53% left brained and 47% right brained. This describes me because I can adapt to the task whether I'm required to be creative or logical. My house is Hufflepuff which is the house of loyalty, acceptance and hardworking which is very interesting because I usually try to work smarter not harder.

  48. My personality type is an INFJ-T. This has been my personality type for years now. I'm a very empathetic and emotional person and am more on the introverted side of the spectrum. According to the quiz, this time I'm more left-brained which I don't think I agree with. Last time I got 50/50 which I felt was more accurate. Now for my favorite quiz, I obviously got into Ravenclaw House, the house I've been in for years.

  49. My personality type is an ENFP-T. This makes me a campaigner. This is no surprise as I would consider myself an emotional person as well. It also said how I am an extraverted person, it was more of a 51/49 ratio so I would say depending on the scenario I can be one of the two. According to the quiz as well I am more of a left sided person, however I would not agree with this because last time I was more balanced out between the two. Lastly for the Harry Potter based quiz I got into the Hufflepuff house. I have watched Harry Potter in the past and this makes sense however this was all new to me.

  50. My personality type is ENFJ-T. I feel like highschool has changed me into this personality type. I like the social aspects in life but often times I am not assertive in my decision making. Mentally, I put more energy into being intuitive rather than observant. My decision making is balanced between feelings and thinking, a good trait I think I have of myself. According to the second quiz, I am 75% left brained. I believe this to be true since I love math and science, and tend to think more rationally at times. However, I do enjoy music, just not art as much. I'd rather make scientific advancements then write novels for sure. Lastly, for the harry potter based quiz I received the GRYFFINDOR house. This makes sense since I am also curious and willing to risk it for adventure.

  51. I got INTJ-T, which is The Architect, this was a bit of a surprise as I normally get INTP-T, but the last time I took this quiz, a few weeks ago, I got INTJ-T, so I'm not that surprised. I am also not surprised as I am very introverted. I am 76% Left Brained, which sounds right as I do enjoy math and things that make sense logically. I am 84% Hufflepuff and I am not surprised as I have been a Hufflepuff for years and I would consider myself loyal and hardworking

  52. My Personality is a Defender or ISFJ-T. I've taken the test before and got the same or similar answers but overall I'm not surprised. I am DEFINITLY introverted but since quarantine I think I've realized the importance of being with friends and people can have so a healthy mix wouldn't be bad. Anyone can tell you I am also an observer and like to get a feel of the situation before saying anything. While I have feeling on the quiz I am not as proud of this as the rest but I can agree with it. Taking the Brain test I can see myself agreeing with the getting the left side as more recently after taking two math classes I realize how much I do enjoy math and problem solving. For the Harry Potter quiz I have no connection to Harry Potter or that world so I'm kind of lost in the loop with the wording of the questions but I got Hufflepuff which is said to be caring and loyal and I would agree.

  54. I am ENFP - T. Each of the descriptions underneath my results made sense for me. It said I was more extraverted than introverted but only by a little which I feel describes me pretty well. It also said that I make decisions more on my emotions than thinking about it which is totally me. So overall my personality type of the campaigner, I feel is pretty accurate. When it came to the right brain/left brain I got that I was a little bit more left brain. This meant that I am rational, like order, objective, symbolic, analytical and love math. When it comes to school I would say this is very true. I like things that are specific and direct. But everything else in my life besides school I would say I am more right brain personally. The reason I say this is because I am very organized and on point for the most part when it comes to school. But then when I go home I am the complete opposite. I am all over the place, not organize and a constant mess. Most people wouldn't think that but its true. Then the harry potter house I got that I am a Ravenclaw. I thought this was interesting because I have seen many people take the test how are into harry potter and had an option on what house they are in. For me, I am not into harry potter but the description it gave on why I am in the house/what characteristics I present I would agree with. I am 74% Ravenclaw to be exact. What this means is that I fit in the house of intelligence, curiosity, individualism, and wit. But also I am 60% Hufflepuff & Gryffindor. That was what I found the most interesting because I thought it was funny how I am equally those two houses. I guess it means I am balanced when it comes to those characteristics.

  57. My Personality is ENFJ-T, which makes some sense but also doesn't make sense at the same time. This is because depending on the situation I can be more outgoing or i can be way more introverted and keep to myself. And lastly for my Harry Potter quiz results I tested as a Hufflepuff which also makes sense to me because I try to be honest and loyal to those who I respect and care about and I also try and accept others into my life or support others in any way I can, this is because I always keep in mind that you have no idea what another person is going through and sometimes it's just nice to be nice.

I was a little shocked because when I usually read this word it gives off a negative connotation, but reading the results I became to actually see myself as this because I am interested in others and from the looks of this past year I have been more open with my opinion and being an extrovert so my results match me perfectly. My results also shows me how much I've changed from the results last year to this year. As well, I am still more Left brained (63%) than right brained (37%) and still am a Gryffindor.

So honestly, I don't know what to think of these quizzes that pressume to know me. One part that I did find to be enormously amusing was when the results said that my "type" will "surprise their friends further when they step out of the spotlight to be by themselves to recharge." I mean please, you have to first be in the spotlight in order to step out of it and I for one detest the spotlight. With the second quiz, it says that I am more left brained and with the third quiz it says that I am in the House of Ravenclaw. However, I find this hard to believe seeing as the quizzes tell me that I am a pragmatist and don't believe in such unrealistic ideas as a school for Witchcraft and Wizardry. And even if I did, I don't see myself attending the school in the first place. :)

  67. I am ENFJ-A Protagonist. This comes as no surprise to me because I have always been quick to speak up against injustices and find a genuine interest in everyone I meet. I can get attached to other people’s problems and invest myself in helping them find comfort but that can get detrimental. This personality type makes a lot of sense for me as I am driven by my strong values and expectations for myself. I am 50/50 left and right-brained, a nice balance of rational and emotional. I found out I am 91% Slytherin, which I found kind of funny because I honestly had no idea what to expect. 69. My personality type is that of ISFP-T or an Adventurer. I was very surprised when I received these results. It was interesting to hear the term adventurer used to describe myself. However, once I started to read it, it made a lot more sense, especially when it came to the idea of large imagination and sensitivity. With that being said, there were many aspects I didn't fully agree with, such as the idea that my personality type is charming. I have absolutely never seen myself this way, I believe that I am generally unfriendly. I am left-brained, though my results weren't enormously far off from being right-brained. This made sense to me, as I am often told by people, mostly those who know me best, that I am very analytical. I am 72% Hufflepuff and 72% Ravenclaw. I feel that I associate strongly with both, and my results from the two previous tests support that idea.

  72. From Eben Townes:

    My Results: INTJ-T

I am not that surprised by these results, I know that I am an introvert and I don’t plan on changing that mentality. Other people and their emotions anger me and I tend to ignore my own emotions when they become a roadblock in my goals. However, depending on the emotions of others, whether they are sad or in need of help, then I will get involved.

After completing the test, I was not surprised with my results. The test stated that I was left brain dominant and that I desire order. This is not that surprising because I do tend to make things based on order, I get angry when my house is loud, I get angered when things are not in the way they were supposed to, and I appreciate peace and quiet.

For the Harry Potter quiz, I received the household of Ravenclaw, which is the household of intelligence and curiosity. I was surprised by this because I did not expect to be put into a household that values intelligence.

  75. Im so sorry that this is late, idk why it slipped my mind

My personality type this time was still the protagonist however some of the letter changed from ENSG –A to ENFJ-A. I was surprised to learn that less than 2% of the population are protagonists. My five dominant traits were 68% extroverted, 67% intuitive, 58% feeling, 64% judging and 72% assertive. Compared to last year, my intuitive percentage went up by 15% being the most drastic change. I think this is because ive learned better how to exert my mental energy and focus on certain tasks. However, I still feel that all of my traits were pretty evenly split and I think this is because when I approach a situation I try to make the best possible decision using all of my resources. Protagonists are charismatic leaders who can influence and sympathize with others. They are very genuine, optimistic, great communicators and find joy in helping others. I do tend to see the good in everyone and I am very good at assessing situations and helping others make decisions. My friends often come to me for advice on different things. I’m always happy and I do feel like others notice. Because protagonists are visionaries they do well overcoming challenges. This aplies to me as I enjoy challenges as I know I can grow from the experience and I have confidence in my own abilities to do so. However, because I do see the good in everyone I can come across as gullible and be caught off guard by certain people either when they don’t fit my expectations, don’t listen to my advice or even when they are sarcastic as I usually take with their saying literally.

My results for this flipped compared to last year, Im now 46% left brained and 54% right brained. (compared to 60% left brained and 40% right brained from last year). I found the fact that I have changed so much pretty surprising. Im pretty evenly distributed between left and right brain and i think its because I use both sides for different tasks. I am a very creative and artistic person who looks at life with a broader perspective. However, when it comes to decision-making I’m very analytical and I like things to make sense and be in order even though I can express certain things creatively and enjoy using my imagination to build things. Maybe my right brain is an escape for my left brain?

I was also 81% Raven claw, only 1% higher than last yaer, which again I was a little surprised at first. I assumed I would be more Gryffindor or Hufflepuff as I am very adventurous, like to try new things, a hard worker and kind. But after taking these tests I’ve come to realize that I am curious about things, self-reliant and use my wit intellectually, to make decisions, and to not outthink others but assess where they’re coming from and come up with the best response based on multiple factors.

  76. According to the personality test, my personality type is ENTP-T. These results are mostly accurate to me based on my personality. The last "T" means turbulent rather than assertive which means I seek positive feedback from people rather than just being assertive regardless of peoples reactions. I think this is very true for me because how people respond to me plays a large role in my life. As a Debater, regardless of T or A I am a very social person and very extroverted and intuitive. I think intuition is a very important characteristic of mine and I do think I think more than I feel when it comes to situations.
I am 56% left brain. I think this is true because I do consider myself an analytic person however instinct and emotion are also prevalent I my decision making. I've been told that when it comes to judgement I can be a rational person rather than acting on emotion.
My result for the Harry Potter test was 83% Slytherin. I think this Is accurate because I've always felt more connected to that house when watching the Harry Potter series. Not the mean aspect, but the cunning quality of that house.

  77. According to the personality test I am now an INFJ-A, which was surprising to me because I expected that I'd be turblant.
I am 57% right brain, which I expected, as I am pretty even on my usage of brain but found more passion in the more creative side of thing.
Lastly, I am 84% ravenclaw. I do not know what this means. Please help.

    1. Ha! :) Ravenclaw house is defined as scholastic (academic), curious, and knowledgeable. Basically, they are book smart. :)

  78. I am INFP-A, I was surprised when it said i was controlled more through principles rather than logic. I would think of myself using logic as the controlling factor of my life. I am 63% left brain dominant, which makes sense since I like to be organized with my academics. I was 74% Hufflepuff, 74% Ravenclaw, 58% Gryffindor, and 38% Slytherin. It makes sense since I value hard work and loyalty.

  79. My test revealed to me that I am ESTJ-A the executive, which I have not seen from anyone else yet. This makes a lot of sense to me as I often make decisions from my head, not my heart. I am also left-brain dominant, displaying that I am very digital and analytic (83% left brain and 17% right brain). I have never seen Harry Potter but the test said that I am in the Ravenclaw house (72%), hufflepuff (66%), slytherin (54%), and gryffindor (50%).

  80. I am a INFP-T, which is surprising because don't really feel like I am as much of everything (Intuitive, feeling, prospecting, etc.).I am also left right balanced, which makes sense since I don't feel very strongly creative yet not immensely logical, I always felt sorta in the middle. For my Harry Potter houses, I am 81% Ravenclaw, 52% Hufflepuff, 48% Slytherin, and 21% Gryffindor. Which makes sense because I do consider myself to be somewhat witty and creative, and I do place a lot of value on Intelligence and curiosity.

  81. I am a INFJ-T Advocate which is kind of in the middle of everything, I personally think that my emotions do get the best of me sometimes. I am mostly left brain dominate since I do like everything to be perfect and organized with everything. For the Harry Potter quiz I am 57% HUFFLEPUFF, 45% SLYTHERIN, and 33% RAVENCLAW. These results somewhat makes sense because I am a pretty brave and outgoing person. I am not really familiar with Harry Potter.

  82. I am an INFJ-T advocate and my percentages were all over the place but the thing that stood out to me the most was that it said my actions were over 80 percent dominated by my emotions. I am 70 percent left brained like my dad which I could've seen coming from a mile away. I'm very rigid and I prefer logic over creativity. I am a hufflepuff and the description was spot on.

  83. INFP-T, This didn't surprise me as every time I take this test I get the same answer, Mediator. I agree with its assessment in some respects, I often am the one my friends go to for advice, I am a rather emotional person, and am introverted, but other aspects of it just didn't seem to fit. As for Right and Left brain, I was 60% left bain, and 40% right brain which tracks. I am relatively creative I enjoy drawing, writing, and music, but I also enjoy these things from a more analytical perspective, drawing to me is more about capturing shapes onto paper in a way that looks good and less about the deeper meaning behind the shapes. I am also relatively unorganized, despite the fact that unorganized spaces stress me out. And as for Hogwarts House percentages I got 81% Hufflepuff, 38% Slytherin, 26% Ravenclaw, and 16% Gryffindor. The fact that I'm a Hufflepuff doesn't surprise me, despite child me constantly believing I was in Ravenclaw, every time I've taken this test I get Hufflepuff. What did surprise me was that Slytherin was my second highest result. Not because Slytherin's are evil or anything like that but because I'm not really ambitious. Slytherin defining trait. My goals in life are to simply be happy, and even I don't know how I'm going to achieve that

  84. I am ENFJ-T, I'm not surprised By my traits I'm surprised in the consistency to get the same personality through the years of taking this quiz. Maybe personality traits are irreversible? I am at the point where I have a good understanding of myself and I am already familiar with my learning styles and personality because I've taken this test and many others multiple times.I primarily use the right side of the brain according to this test, I wonder the implications of knowing this information and how to adapt to maximize future outcomes in life. I am 81% Ravenclaw, I don't understand because the Ravenclaw attributes are cleverness, wisdom, wit, intellectual ability, and creativity. I only possess cleverness maybe I'm unique or I haven't maximized my potential yet. The correctness of this test is yet to be determined. I appreciate self-reflection because it specifically allows me to know I'm different in my own right and These tests allow me to developed methods to learn better.

  85. My personality type was to be revealed as ENFJ-T. When looking into further research on what that meant I was surprised to see that it was the personality of a protagonist. The character description I believe suits me well as it mentions it's for people who hold skills such as empathy and characteristics of being Extroverted, as I achieved 85% for that scoring. It did take me by surprise however saying that they may think more analytically, as I tend to just think off a whim and do what I think is right based off of my emotions instead of for others. I am right brain inclined, which didn't come to me as a surprise as I love the more art side of the world. I'm very instinctive and creative and absolutely enjoy creating fantasies for any scenario. I had been sorted as slytherin which came as a complete shocker, however I can see myself being quite the mischievous type. I recieve 77% for that, but what I did find interesting is I recieved 76% for Ravenclaw, which is the school I normally result in being sorted into when taking these kinds of tests. I wonder if my mindset has changed to become more adventurous rather than a lens of inquiry.

  86. Aidan's Response: After taking the first test, I discovered that I am an INFP-T, otherwise known as a mediator, which I found rather fitting because of how close to being split some of my traits were, these traits are 72% introverted, 67% intuitive, 79% feeling, 65% prospecting, and 58% turbulent. I had actually taken this test around half a year ago and at that time, I was an ISFP-T, only by a small difference between intuitiveness and observational skills. This change surprised me quite a bit, but I also found it fitting that it changed along with me learning how to deal with stress a little bit better. I tend to focus on my emotions and express how I feel to close friends since I believe that emotions are very important. Other than that, I’m not very surprised by my results.

My results on the right brain and left brain test ended up with me being more dominant with my left-brain by 6%, which I found surprising due to the fact that I enjoy the arts more than other subjects.

Finally, I received an 81% score for hufflepuff on the Harry Potter house quiz. I did not find it very surprising, as a lot of the traits definitely apply to how I am. I also received 64% Ravenclaw, 38% Gryffindor, and 34% Slytherin.
